AP CHEMISTRY**ANYONE WHO TOOK IT. please help

FOR EVERYONE WHO TOOK THE AP CHEMISTRY EXAM PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

What were the specific procedures going into the free response section? What was allowed, what wasn't allowed? Please answer that pretty generally, going into the calculator and transitioning into the non calculator, including specific instructions if you remember them. Also, to be more specific, were we allowed to use the green booklet during the calculator (first) section? Were we allowed to look at any periodic tables or equation sheets during that first section. There was a huge confusion in my testing room, because we were given a horrible proctor.

HELP ME OUT! thanks

Let’s see. The free response section was divided into two parts, with 3 questions in each part.

In part I of free response, you are given 55 min to answer ONLY the first three questions, and calculators ARE permitted. You can only work on the first three questions.

Then, calculators must be PUT AWAY and you get 40 or so minutes to answer questions 4-6. Question 4 involves the writing of reactions. You are permitted to go back and work on questions 1-3, but calculators cannot be used.

During the entire free response section, you are allowed to the provided references, such as the periodic table and equations sheet. You were allowed to write in the green booklet the entire time, but only answers written in the pink booklet were scored.

Hope that helped :)

oh God, so for questions 1-3 we WERE allowed to use the green booklet? you’ve gotta be kidding me. my proctor was a complete fool if that were so!

No you weren’t…

nope the green booklet contains questions 4-6. you can’t open it until the calculator is put away

oh okay good. from what I understand though is that we are provided with the periodic table as well as the equation sheet. where were these located for use during the calculator section?

they were in the front of both green and pink packets, i believe.
by the way… we didn’t actually need the green packet did we? all the problems were in the pink packet anyway, and unless we wanted to do scratch work, the green booklet wasnt necesary right?

yea we didn’t. we didn’t need the tables or equations either really but still. anyway u said they were at the front like first few pages before the start of pages with 1-3?

yep, they were at the front of the pink booklet. maybe the green insert too, i don’t remember. i barely used the green one, haha

The equations were necessary for question 5 if you forgot them. Quite useful.
