AP Chemistry Credit and Medical Schools

Hi,

I will be starting my freshman year at a private university and have a question about using my AP credit in chem. In my college we have level 1, 2, and 3 introductory level chem classes. I got a 4 on my ap chem exam in high school. With this score, I can skip level 1 and 2 but have to take level 3. I followed this path only to later realize that some med schools do not like ap credit and would rather have you retake the course.

Therefore, I will take level 2 and level 3 but not level 1 chem because that covers basic of chemistry which I was very strong in when I took my ap chem class in high school.

Now I tend to stress and overthink a lot and many of my friends are retaking chem from level 1 to satisfy med school requirements.

My question is, is my situation to skip ONLY level 1 intro chem class but still take level 2 and 3 okay since I am looking to apply to medical school in the future? Just skipping level 1 but taking all the other necessary courses will not put me at a disadvantage in the medical school applicants pool, will it?

Please provide clarification and reassurance so I can put my mind at ease! Thank you all in advance!!

What is the name of the classes of Chem 1, 2 and 3? THis is not known naming scheme.
Have you talked to your med school /health professions adviser? If you haven’t or don’t have one, then go talk to them. They will know what med schools need, not your friends.
Also Level 3 may be “honors” and that would be fine…
