AP Chemistry Exam - Best Prep Book??

i've been trying to find a good book to prepare me for the exam in May... what are some of the better ones?

i did an amazon search for "ap chemistry" and got stuff like Princeton Review, Barrons, and a bunch of others, including one with a very tacky title, "5 steps to a 5" riiiight....

any help would be desired and appreciated. thanks!

-will

here's the link to the amazon search: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/external-search/103-8615057-1098210?field-keywords=ap+chemistry&mode=blended&tag=mozilla-20&sourceid=Mozilla-search%5B/url%5D">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/external-search/103-8615057-1098210?field-keywords=ap+chemistry&mode=blended&tag=mozilla-20&sourceid=Mozilla-search</a></p>

From what I've heard and seen, Princeton Review is best.

In addition to the book however, make sure you get as many authentic free response and multiple choice questions of AP Chemistry as you can, and practice them. That works more than reading any book.

thanks, i'll check out pr. my chem teacher gives us FRs on all the tests we take, usually one take home and one during the test.

does anyone have princeton review for chem?

PR is good. I used it and got a 4 ( I would have got a 5 if I wasn't so tired when I took the test).

also, go to the collegeboard website and look at the AP Chemistry free response from the last 5 years. Know how to do those, and you are gaurenteed a good grade onthe free response section

There are two Princton Review books one is "2004-2005" edition and the other one is "2006-2007" edition.

Which one should I buy???

hey arco and petersons is the same that sucks i bought both for no reason !!!!!

I used PR two years ago and remember that it was a pretty good book. As for which edition of PR to use, look in the AP Chem course guide (the Acorn book) and see if there have been any substantial changes to the AP curriculum in the last year. There probably haven't been, and if so the older PR book is probably just as good as the new one.

And as other people have said, make sure to get lots of practice on real, previous AP exam questions - both the Free responses (which are avaliable from APCentral) and the multiple choice (which your teacher should have)
