***AP Chemistry Forum: 2017-2018***

On the free response, there were a few free response questions where I changed my answer and rewrote it after everything else. For example, I would change my answer for a, so I would cross it out and write an arrow to where I put my changed answer. Is this what we were supposed to do? I am kind of nervous I did this wrong even though I answered the questions (what I believe to be) correctly.

@horncollege As long as you crossed out the old answers and rewrote the headings for each part, I think you’re good.

I’ve graded FRQs for College Board. You’re fine.

I’m kinda freaking out! I took the ap chem test and feel like I got a solid 4. But our class discussed the AP test the next day and some of my classmates said you had to put the answers to the FRQ on the lined paper provided. I put my answer below the questions for the FRQ, will they count?

@Brendangil Are you saying you wrote on the question page? I don’t see how you could have since there wasn’t enough space. But the proctor told us specifically (reading the instructions) that only answers provided on the lined papers will be graded (aside from the parts where you had to draw or write on the question page itself), and I think those instructions were on the page too.

Are you sure you didn’t write anything on the lined papers? Because that’s what they grade.

On 4-7 I wrote the answers in the lined because the lined paper was right below the questions but for 1-3 I wrote all my answers below questions

@Brendangil I would ask your teacher if this has happened in the past and see if those students received credit. If not, call or email CB to get a definite answer.

If there’s a AP chem grader on here could you throw your two cents into the discussion. Will a grader still grade answers that are under the questions and not on the lined paper?

@Brendangil No, the grader can only grade the answers that are written on the lined part of the paper.
