AP Chemistry or AP Biology?

I’m a rising junior at my high school and I have the option of taking AP Biology or AP Chemistry. I have already taken the honors level of both course but I’m unsure of which to choose. I’m hoping to shape my future around medicine/pre-med, which class would be more beneficial towards that? Which one would look more appealing towards most universities?

If you’re going into a medical field, AP Bio will help more. I think AP Bio is considered easier than Chem, but it could be different at your school.

You have to take both bio and chem in college as a pre-med so they will be equally useful. I’d recommend you take whichever subject you prefer, whichever course has the better teacher etc.

I am a junior right now and I am taking AP Chem. The choice of which to take is honestly up to the student. AP Chem is a balance between memorization and application, while AP Bio is mainly memorization (AP Physics, on the other hand, is mainly application). It depends on what kind of student you are and what types of learning atmospheres you thrive in.

I agree with @izrk02, AP Bio will definitely help you very much. My sister is a medical student and she has stated on multiple occasions that it has provided her with a good base knowledge for college science courses.

Neither course is better than the other, and colleges don’t prefer one over the other (unless, of course, you are applying as a chem or bio major). Instead, pick the one that you know you will do best in so that colleges can see that you thrived in that specific course.
