AP Chemistry Question

Do I have to memorize all the chemical equations for the AP exam?

For Free Response, no you don’t. They give you an equation sheet, which you can find online. For Multiple Choice however, you do NOT receive an equation sheet. So I would memorize the important formulas…don’t waste your time with little insignificant ones like the root mean squared formula. I doubt it will be on the multiple choice, and even if it is, it will be no more than 1 question. Hope that answers your question

Oh sorry, I think i misunderstood your question. If you’re referrng to the equations on part B of the free response, then memorizing helps. But it doesn’t count that much so I wouldn’t memorize every equation in the world. Rather, it’s better to learn general rules for reactions, ie double replacement, combustions, etc.

You receive an equation sheet for the second part of the test. So I recommend memorizing quite a few of them.
