I am debating between two ap chemistry textbook for the next year. One of them is Tro’s AP Chemistry A Molecular Approach and the other one is Zumdahl Chemistry textbook.
The Zumdahl one is the 7th edition and I was wondering if there is any difference between the 7th edition and the newest?
I am actually using Chang (10th Edition), but I plan on purchasing the newest version of Zumdahl. Not quite sure about the difference between the 7th and the newest version. Personally, I’ll probably get the newest edition, so if you’re comfortable paying more money than go for it.
Zumdahl’s, Brown, and others will also suffice.
I really like Brown, and there’s a PDF of the 10th edition somewhere online as well.
For AP Chemistry I would recommend using Zumdahl’s textbook.
There is very little difference in the content between Zumdahl’s 7th edition and the newer edition. There won’t be any problem if you use the older edition unless your instructor is assigning problems from a newer edition (but even then you can still find the problems - they will just have difference numbers).
Are you using the textbooks to self-study for the Chem Exam?
If you are, don’t use the textbooks. They don’t really help much.
