Which would be better to take? Does it make a difference for someone not planning to major in either field?

^Quick answer. Whichever you feel safer taking (ie. teacher, difficulty of class), take.

I think Chem would be considered more rigorous, not to mention it would more likely give more credit in college. Especially since AB was taken out, computer science doesn’t hold the same rigor and relevance it used to. Even if you’re not majoring in the field, you could get credit for your required science credits.

I took both, but I took CSAB first so I could take part in certain ECs (in addition to the fact that I already considered physics my dominant science). So for me, taking CS before chem worked out.

I’d say that chem labs are a bit harder to duplicate with self-study.

Well, it’s senior year, so I can only do one. And I wouldn’t self-study either one. So it has to be just one, not both.

I took both this year (junior) and found that Comp Sci was a joke while Chem was less of a joke, but still a joke.

So I take it that neither one will negatively impact my apps?

Why can you only do one just because you’re a senior?

I don’t see how an AP class could possibly have a negative impact on your application in any way.
