AP Chemistry

Don't be stupid, use Chang. I have the latest edition for Zumdahl and it sucks. He really can't explain. Chang is so much better. They have better exercises and more thorough explanations. Zumdahl is longer but not necessarily better. He just tries to impress his readers with his knowledge.

Take this from someone who scored 5 on the AP Chem test.

By the way, throw every prep book except Princeton Review out. It's the only one you need.

What where your scores in the AP test for the people that used the Zumdhal book???

Zumdahl is just bad...
GET A BETTER BOOK...

Chang, Brown+Lemay, even Barrons are much better...

Zumdahl has poor explanation and H2O in it (get it, H2O)..

If you're going to study on your own, I'd recommend ordering old tests from collegeboard and going through those in addition to studying from books.

Probably should have put this on another post but anyways which test do you guys think is easier to score in higher percentiles on: SAT II Chem. or SAT II Bio?

Which one would be easier to study for without the class?

I used an OLD edition of Zumdahl (3rd, I think) and it was pretty solid. I also used Chang, and went between books for clarification on things I was a little fuzzy on. (For example, I thought Chang did a much better job of explaining molecular geometry and hybrid orbitals whereas Zumdahl was more clear on electrochemistry.) You should use two books to complement each other.

As for cram books, Princeton Review all the way. Barron's was horrible... way too much information.
