AP Chemisty vs AP Physics C

I am planning on taking one of these courses next year, but I am not sure which to take. I have asked my friends in upper classes, and I just wanted to get some feedback from the vast pool of experience that we have on this site.

With AP Chemistry you have to take an Honors Chemistry lab period on the side. This makes the class a double period, allowing the instructor more time to teach.

With AP Physics C you have to take both the Electricity/Magnetism period and the Mechanics period. So these are both 2 period classes.

I am trying to take the easier of the two, as I will have other hard classes with the, but I don't really know which is easier.

Advice?

Well if your trying to take the easier one, I think it would be Ap chem, but it all depends on your ability, do you have a fair knowledge of calculus for ap physics c? Also if you have taken Ap physics B it would help you more with concepts. But as for ap chem, its just straight forward algebra and is pretty easy in my opinion and I think your school makes a mistake making it two periods or your teacher is bad. Lol.
But if you really want to be ambitious, take ap physics c, and self study ap chem. good luck.

Depends on what you want to do. AP chem better for pre-med types, AP physics C better for physical science types.

Overall, AP chem taken more often.

I will be taking AP Calculus BC at the same time as either of these courses. Also, AP Chem has a reputation of being slightly harder due to the teacher, but I have no idea with is harder concept-wise. I have not taken a physics course prior to this, but am currently in Honors Chemistry.

On the other hand, a plus for taking physics would be for my application to a nearby top school, NCSSM, as I will have taken a class in each of the fields of science. (Definitely taking APES next year, taking bio and chem this year)

Don’t take AP Physics C if you haven’t taken a Physics course before.

have you taken honors chem, or honors physics. or better yet, AP physics B? I’ve heard AP physics C is very hard. AP chem is not easy but at least it doesn’t need calc.

Bump
I have taken chem, but have not taken a physics course.

then take AP chem. Don’t just jump into physics C. If you’ll be a senior, then you should take honors physics, or AP physics B.

This will be in my sophomore year, so one of these I will take 10th and the other 11th, just trying to find out in which order.
