I need help deciding if I should take the AP Chinese Language or not..
I'm don't speak Mandarin fluently (I speak Cantonese).. I can speak and answer much of the question asked though not very good at it.
I totally forgot even how to write Chinese (I came back to the U.S. in second grade) though I'm pretty good at reading them.. only the traditional characters though.

I checked out my college that I'm going to, they will accept at least a grade of 3.. so, let's say if I completely failed the writing portion and did not do good at the speaking portion, what grade would I approximately would receive?

At many colleges, the language departments have their own placement tests to place you into the appropriate level of language course. Some even have special heritage speaker courses. Check with the college you are planning to attend.

Thanks for replying.
My college accepts the lowest grade of 3 for AP. I am in no intention of taking Chinese for my college language class, so there is no need for me to take placement test.
I’m only asking if I could earn a 3 under these circumstances so I can earn some credits to kick out some required general classes and to save more money.
