Basically, my councelor told me that Ap micro econ was .5 credit and Ap macro was .5 credit. Since they have seperate AP exams and is an yearlong course (micro 1st semester and macro second), shouldnt they be weighted as 2 credits in total?

What exactly is 0.5 credit for a course?

Of the colleges I’ve seen, you can use either to get out of an Econ 101 course, but only one of them. So you don’t need to take both, and, in fact, there wouldn’t be much benefit in taking both.
Granted, this is a very limited pool of colleges (See: Lehigh and Northeastern), so research the colleges you’re interested in to see their policy. It may be that they have, rather than just General Econ 101, a Macro 101 course and a Micro 101 course, so you can get out of both. I’m not sure, really.

Half credit each is for half year. In total they are 1 credit for 1 whole year. The bummer is the 2 AP tests.
