The difficulty level depends on factors nobody here can predict like: your academic preparation and aptitude, your interest level, the teacher’s expectations. I know students who got 5s on Physics and thought it was easy vs those that got 3s and thought is was hard.
If you are a good writer, AP Lang shouldn’t be too difficult. If you are a math/science person, AP Chemistry and AP Physics may be more enjoyable. If you are interested in history, AP US History might be your thing. It all depends on your interests and strengths as a student.
APUSH was terrible for me like absolutely bang my head against a wall terrible. It wasn’t my favorite class because I wasn’t in history but I did learn some thorns from it that I’m proud of. And then the amount of notes your teacher may or may not assign you. Hell my teacher made sure we completed the entire book.
Oooh I loved AP Lang and APUSH! But I really like history and I’m a strong writer. On the other hand, AP Physics is nearly killing me right now. So it really does depend on the student. They’re all challenging with high workloads, because they’re all APs. The specific work will depend a lot on your teacher, and difficulty of the tests are relative…there’s stats online about the score distributions for each test, though, which may help.
AP Chem and AP Physics are supposed to be difficult because of the concepts they have, so you’ll need to put in a lot of work to understand. AP Lang is a lot of writing, so if you’re a good writer, it shouldn’t be hard, it’ll just take a lot of time to do the work. APUSH is supposed to have a lot of notes and memorization, so if you’re good at memorization, you’ll do well in the class, but doing the notes might take a while. AP Economics is supposed to be pretty easy, but with a lot of homework. That’s how it is based on my experiences, but it might be different for you.
AP Chem and AP Physics are supposed to be difficult, and econ is supposed to be fairly easy. Obviously, course work depends largely on the school. Im taking APUSH now, and how hard it is varies. Some students study for tests for weeks and get Fs and others don’t study and get As. You should have a knack for history in my opinion (or study like crazy).
You should ask a few of your junior/senior friends in YOUR school. The difficulty largely depends on your academic strength in each area and how hard the teacher makes. For example, in our school, kids get 5 on AP Physics might only have C in class. Although a 5 on AP exams make you looks good, but a C in class will ruins your GPA, you might need to think about it carefully.
