On the MIT application there is a section for you to put in your AP/IB class name and the score of the test if you took them. I took a lot of AP tests, but not their AP classes (most were Magnet courses). So should I still put those magnet courses down somehow? Or only write the actual AP classes I took?

Thanks!

One thing you could do would be to list the actual courses you took with the AP scores in the AP scores section, then to list the magnet courses and AP scores in the "anything else you'd like to tell us" space.

Another option is to explain things in a supplement. My son took several AP tests after studying on his own, during the last two years of high school. Because he took so many AP tests in all (16!), the info would not fit in the AP section of the application. A two-page supplement was used to briefly explain what he had done, in addition to other things which didn't neatly fit into the application (music awards, etc.).

thank you so much for your help!
