My daughter is interested in Towson University, University of Rhode Island, UMASS Amherst, University of Delaware, James Madison University, and University of New Hampshire for speech pathology/communications disorders.

How important is it to take an AP class in High School? She's taking an Honors Italian IV in her senior year. Do colleges care about AP?

Also she's deciding between taking Physics or Biology for Allied Health.

it isn’t necessary to take an AP class for the colleges that she is interested in as long as she takes challenging classes. If honors classes are available, take those if she wants. If not, go for the AP class. Only take the AP class if she thinks she can get a good grade in it (not a D or F)

I don’t know how those particular colleges feel about a lack of APs, but I can say that I took my first this year and found it an immensely rewarding experience.
