AP Classes Advice

I’m signed up to take four AP classes next year (APUSH, AP English 11, AP Stats, & AP Psych).
I’ve got summer assignments for all of the classes except Stats & I was wondering if you guys knew some good websites that would help me? APUSH’s assignment is to do two chapter assignments (defining terms, answering questions) & Psych is looking up people of psychology & telling what their contributions were.
Also, what would be good AP prep books to get? I want to try to get ones for the exams that I know I’ll sign up for (APUSH & Psych) so that I can go through the book through the year, if ya get what I mean. Study tips would also be greatly appreciated because I’m a really bad procrastinator. Last year in AP Euro there were many nights I would stay up writing a DBQ that was due the next morning & I don’t think that’s a smart idea to do this upcoming year. Any help will be great!

Honestly prep books never helped me. I would just budget your time and put 100% in all the time

Are you taking AP lit or Lang? In my school, you can take either one starting junior year.

thinkingtoohard, thank you! I struggle a bit with budgeting time, but I’m definitely gonna have to get better with it.
TheSlacker16, I’m taking AP Lang. Thank you for the links!

I’m taking APUSH, AP Lang and AP Psych as well! For APUSH I’ve decided on the REA Crash Course. It’s a good quick-reference guide, and on one thread here I saw that it is probably the best bet for most history-oriented AP courses. We also used the REA Crash Course for AP World last year, and it did help a good bit, covering a breadth of information in a less overwhelming volume. It also offers good exam-taking tips and essay-writing tips.

I haven’t seen much in the ways of AP Lang. ): I’m bookmarking this to find some advice on how to prep for AP Lang.

I’ve been told that AP Psych is one of the easiest AP courses, so I don’t think I’m really going to need a review book for that one. Everybody says that it’s just a matter of memorizing the words. (’: Most people say self-studying for it is just as productive as taking the course, so I think it’s a pretty easy AP course to take.

I didn’t take AP Stat last year, and took Algebra 2 instead, so I don’t really know what to tell you in terms of AP Stat. I have a lot of friends who took it, though, and I’ll see if I can find out what review books they used. (:

Please update me if you get any good info, @fiercecurrent !

@Earthlingo, I’ve heard AP Psych is easy a lot lately too. I do have a question though. Would you know of any websites that could help with AP Psych & APUSH? I have summer assignments for both that involve defining terms.

Hey I took APUSH this year and I found this super helpful. Barron’s is great right before the AP exam

Thank you @ambers58

@fiercecurrent Use quizlet for AP Psych. 90% of all AP Psych students use the same book, and quizlet has definitions word for word from that book. I think the author is Myers, but just google the term you need plus ap psych quizlet and the correct definition should be on there.

Quizlet is a good resource for any class… I know for many of my pre-ap english classes, we used Quizlet to study vocabulary and terms for reading and essays. Definitely on my top list of things to use! I don’t really know about anything for APUSH, sorry. ): All of my friends who’ve taken it have graduated at this point and they don’t really remember what they used.

Oh, I’ve used the Crash Course videos on youtube, produced by Hank and John Green. They helped a lot of my AP-bound friends review and understand difficult concepts. It also really helps with non-AP classes!

Thank you @iubaccounting
@Earthlingo, I watch those videos normally & I honestly don’t know how I didn’t think of it. Totally shows where my brain is.
I’ll definitely have to get the Quizlet app back though.
