AP Classes and College Admissions

Hey guys, I'm in a little bit of a dilemna, I've moved to a totally new high school my junior year, and went from block scheaduling(3 classes a day) to 6 classes a day.

My scheadule looks like this:

AP Chem
Spanish 1
College Prep(english) | world Literature (1 semester each 1/2 credit)
U.S. History
Pre-Calc
Economics |Anatomy/Physiology (1 semester each 1/2 credit)

It can be done, but it is a little tough for me and I was wondering what is the point of taking an AP Chem course? I am thinking of switching it for a required fine art, that way my senior year I will only have maybe one or two courses that will be mandatory for my graduation so that way I would be able to take a few other courses which interest me, Ap Calc, etc. And maybe dual enroll in the local college to take some other courses (Maybe Chemistry).

Now my basic question is, will dropping out of AP Chem in high school, and maybe only taking one ap course at a minimum hurt my chances to get into a State University(University of Florida, or University of Michigan). I plan on using the extra time I have from not taking AP Chem to volunteer and do some community service at the hospital. I am considering going pre-med. That is one reason why I'm going to take AP Calc my senior year, so I can get it out of the way for college.

Now I do know that it would be beneficial for me education wise to take AP Chem so I can skip it in college, however I was reading over some pre-med requirments and alot of schools recommend that you take their intro to chem course.

• Never CLEP out of an introductory science course. If you take a more advanced course, you will only wind up competing against sophomores and juniors with superior studying skills. Worse, you may find out that your high school AP class didn't cover the introductory class material as well as your high school teachers said it did.

Would I have problems getting into a college (state university UF, etc) if I only took a minimum of 1 AP Course(Calc) with a 3.7 gpa or higher?

Would I have problems IN College, taking their Chemistry course if I did not take AP Chem in high school? I have taken honors Chem, but in my current situtation I don't think it would be smart for me to take AP Chem, when I may have to repeat it in College. And college proffesors don't expect you to have taken AP Chem for their general Chemistry course, right?

Thanks guy, for any advice you can offer =D.
