I’m a rising senior (my school doesn’t give us the opportunity to take very many APs until senior year really, just honors classes. I’ll be taking 3 this year though), and I took Art History and English Lang, obviously Art History was a lot harder.

Psychology- class and test were extremely easy. Plus my dad’s a Psychology professor
English Language- class was only practice AP tests. Test itself was ok
Biology - class for me was a little difficult, got a high A though. Many former straight a students were humbled with C’s. Test I’m not sure, got an 800 on SAT Bio E though
US History- hated the subject, the class, and the test

I know you asked for just the classes, but I feel like talking about the test itself is important too. These lists are ranked from hardest to easiest.

Classes:
English Language and Composition - A
Chemistry - A
Biology - A
Euro - A
US History - A

Exams:
Chemistry - 5
US History - 4
European History - 5
English Language and Composition - 5
Biology - 5

There’s an interesting inverse correlation between some of the classes and the tests: for example, APUSH has been my easiest AP class so far but it was one of the hardest AP exams I have taken as well as my only 4.

English Lang (pretty straightforward, though many students do seem to have trouble with this, being one of the most widely taken APs)
World Hist (very analytical and broad)
American Hist (fact regurgitation)
Spanish Lang (daunting for nonnatives, often underestimated by natives)
Spanish Lit (few external resources, complex terminology)
Physics B (requires a more abstract approach to problem solving)

This is based on subject matter, rather than a workload which varies depending on the teacher.

My list for easiest to hardest goes something like this:

AP United States History
AP English Language
AP World History
AP Chemistry

APUS is cake. I didn’t study once the whole year and got straight 100’s. I got a 4 on the AP test, but there were outside factors contributing to that.

AP English Lang is not too hard, but can be challenging for those who don’t write that well. I had solid high 90’s year round and got a 4 on the test.

AP World was dreadful for me to prepare for. I did extremely well in the class itself with high 90’s, but the test scared the hell out of me considering it was my first. I got a 4 on it, which I’m proud of since most of my class failed.

AP Chemistry is horrifyingly hard. If you don’t believe me, I like the way this guy summed it up: [AP Chemistry Rant - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube) But anyway, I managed to get mid-90’s throughout the year, and squeaked out a 3 on the test. Ultimately, I’m disappointed in myself for not being able to do better, but that’s a lesson to learn when it comes to taking challenging things seriously.

By class:
Easiest
AP Eng Lit
AP Eng Lang
AP Spanish
AP US Gov
AP Stats
AP Calc BC
AP Computer Sci A
AP Bio
AP Chem
…Large increase in difficulty …
