AP Classes colleges look for

Hey there! So recently I have been trying to plan a good schedule for next year (which will be my sophomore year) and am having trouble deciding what classes will be strong enough. So far I am thinking of this: English 2 honors, chemistry honors, algebra 2 honors, AP world history, AP Art history, Spanish 3 honors, and introduction to engineering design honors. My question is, will colleges look for ap classes related to your major? If so, would it be better to take ap environmental rather than art history? (I want to be a civil engineer.) I should note, however, I do not have an interest for AP environmental and will only be taking it if colleges do really look for classes related to a chosen major

If you want to be an engineer, you would never be taking environmental science in college. So you may get credit for it that you could use for elective credit, but that is it. You could get the same thing with AP Psych or AP Art history.
Honestly I would take whatever is the most interesting to you.

If you want to be a Civ E , you want to at a minimum take Honors Bio, Honors Chem, Honors Physics and at least one of those as an AP science.

You also need to make sure you get through AB Calculus if possible so double up on your math if you can haven’t taken geometry yet.

Lol the reason i thought environmental is because i felt it might have a little to do with the civil engineering topics and concepts, and yeah I would much rather take Art History or Physcology. As for AP Calc, I am currently in honors geometry so ill prob. have space for it as a senior (or a junior if I do one math course online.) And for the science AP, most likely I will take physics either as an AP or through dual credit and possibly bio. Thanks for the help!

AP Environmental would be a good option for an additional science course, beyond the Bio/Chem and Physics. It could also prove to interesting and may help if your plan to study is Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering. My suggestion is take the AP’s that interest you.

Another vote for this.
