Hello, im stuck on a situation. My school offers this really good pathway for biomedical science and you get hands on experience to working in a hospital. But, the problem is, I don’t have any space for it and my counselor is telling me that I can replace my science classes. What should I do? (our school has a 6 period system)
Sophomore year
Chem honors/biomedical
pre calc hon
english 1 hon
AP human geo
PE
french 2
Junior year
AP Chem / biomedical ?
honors physics/ biomedical ? (i can replace either AP chem or honors physics
honors english
AP calc AB
French 3
world history honors
Senior year
AP bio ?
AP physics B / biomedical ? (same here I can replace either AP bio or AP physics B)
AP calc
honors english
civics and government
AP economics
My major interest is medicine
The thing is I want to take AP classes to get prepared for college and if I dont i feel like i will be behind and struggle in college.
You should take Bio, Chem, Physics and then at least one AP version of those.
You don’t have to double up on sciences.
It is okay to take a science and a PLTW class.
You could take AP Physics 1 and biomedical junior year, and AP Bio or AP Chem + Biomedical senior year. However you should definitely take Honors chem sophomore year.
@MYOS1634 my school requires u to take honors physics before AP Physics so like im somehow gonna have to cram honors physics in my junior year schedule with AP Chem and AP physics with AP bio senior year. In case if i can’t fit honors physics in my schedule, can I just take honors physics senior year and no AP Physics? not that many people in my class are gonna take AP Physics because it is very hard to cram it. I feel like I can be fine with no AP Physics but only physics honors
@bopper i cant cuz in my school u can START physics in junior year, so that even means u cant do reg or honors physics until Junior year and Junior year im taking AP chem
