Is it highly recommended to have completed the AP classes of a subject before you take the SAT II?

Or if you haven't or are currently in the class, would you recommend taking the sat II test?

I took physics last year, and am in ap physics this year, and took the Sat II physics test once, and it was my lowest score, at 640.
Over half of the material on the test I had never even seen before.
I got the princeton review book to study, but it doesn't really seem to help too much, as learning the material which is almost 250 pages of text in even a month doesn't seem feasible.

I am re-taking the test this saturday. I have studied more, but I really don't think it is helping me too much.

So, should I do this again or switch to another test. Even though I am more interested in Physics, than Chemistry, should I take the chemistry test?
I already took AP chem, and scored a 5.

And as a last side-note, do top schools expect 800s on math 2 as so many people get those, and would a 770 opposed to 800 matter much or at all?

Thanks for the help!
