AP Classes Selection Help for Junior Year

Hello, I’m currently a sophomore and I’m struggling about what classes I should take next year. If it helps, I currently have straight A’s with two honors classes: Chemistry Honors and English 10 Honors. Here are the AP classes that I plan to take next year:
AP English Language and Composition
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 1
AP Stats?
Can you guys tell me how hard or easy each class is? What is the class like? What is the workload like? Is it a good idea to even take 4 AP classes? I’ve always aced my math and science classes, but I’m particularly unsure if I should take AP Stats because I heard that it’s a different kind of math. Is it a good idea to take two math classes at once? Any advice would be appreciated.

Calc AB and Stat isn’t a bad combo at all. I’m taking Calc BC and Stat currently in my senior year, and it’s not bad. The question is, if you take Stat in Junior Year, what math will you be taking in your senior year? If you have an A in Chem Honors, why not consider AP Chem?

Have you taken any AP courses this year? Some students find a difference between honors and AP courses. That being said you seem to do very well in math and science so if that is where your interests lie, it would make sense to take AP courses in Calc and Physics. In our high school, AP Lang and Comp as well as AP Stats are both a lot of work. The first is a lot of writing so be prepared. The second takes time but is not overly difficult when compared to other AP’s. Ask around to find out what the teachers are like, especially in any you may have concerns with, as they can make a big difference. My son is a junior and currently taking 4 AP’s including AP Calc BC and AP Physics. Being a strong math student will help you in both. Good luck!

@oneandonlyx I would, but AP Chem is unfortunately not offered at my school. I would be taking AP Calc BC senior year. Thanks for the reassurance that taking two math courses are not bad.

@jcmon716 Thanks for the advice. And no, I haven’t taken any AP classes yet, as they are not offered until junior year

BC is only a few more chapters than AB though. You’d be doing review for the first few months, but I mean if that’s okay with you, then go ahead.

AP stats will be super easy, but AP lang is shockingly very difficult (I guess this truly depends on the teacher–mine was wicked hard). Physics and AB should be fine.

Since you’ve never taken an AP class and only had two honors, I would stick to three AP 's: calc, English, physics. If you see you can handle these three then move to 4 senior year
