AP classes that count for petroleum engineering

Hi everyone! I just wanted to know what classes the engineering school usually gives credit for in regards to petroleum engineering. This is with the assumption that you get the scores needed for credit.

Thanks!

I’m not sure how different it would be for Petroleum, but for the most part, there are two different types of courses that you can exempt through AP credit; classes normally taken during your Freshman year, and classes that must be taken as a part of the UCC (University Core Curriculum). You can check the fulfillments on catalog.tamu.edu, core.tamu.edu, and icd.tamu.edu

I’m majoring in geology (not at TAMU) which is kinda similar and I got AP credit for AP Calc AB, physics and environmental science. I’m not counting the non math/science ones like APUSH that count toward gen eds unrelated to the major. You should also check the AP credit on the website (above) if all comes to nothing. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks ddashla and GeologyRocks! Definitely helped out.
