AP Classes to take for Engineering Major

Hello, I am about to be a senior and I was wondering which classes I shoul take next year.
This year I took: AP Calculus AB, AP English Language, APUSH, Honors Chemistry, Advanced Biomed and Graphic Design.

Next year I am planning on taking: AP Calculus BC, College Writing, AP Chemistry, and i dont know if I should take AP Physics B OR C. I have never taken a Physics class before but I have already taken Calculus. I want to be prepared for Physics in College since I plan on Majoring in Engineering so i want to be prepared and understand the basic rules in Physics. Would I be expected to already know Physics when if i enter AP Physics C? C OR B?

Physics C mechanics is easy IMO and easier to get a 5 on then physics b. physics C electricity and magnetism is more difficult although it is pretty straightforward IMO. I’m pretty sure physics C is favored over physics b if you are going into engineering though.

Even if physics C mechanics “is easy”, physics B mechanics is even easier. However, for an engineering major, physics C as a first year physics course is extremely impressive. Is your physics C class divided into two separate classes (E&M + Mechanics) or is it one double period class…?

The only case in which I’d strongly recommend against it is if you are taking the class on a period a day (<1hr) since you don’t have any foundation in physics.

I’m talking about physics B as a whole. Not just the mechanics portion in physics B. Unless you are too.

AP Physics B is novice level physics.
AP Physics C Mechanics is fairly straightforward, but requires calculus.
AP Physics C E&M is the most difficult “common” AP test. It’s not easy.

If you want to do engineering, try Physics C, particularly E&M…
I went into senior year thinking about engineering, and about halfway through Physics C, I decided that it wasn’t for me, and decided to do Econ. in college instead.

AP Physics C E&M is quite difficult for high school. I took Physics C AP which only focused on the Mechanics portion.

The C E&M has many concepts found in an intro engineering physics E&M class, which are usually just C E&M on crack version with more calculus + physics.

We don’t know about the Physics at your school, but if there students taking C E&M every year and doing well, just go for it.
