Hello, I pretty much joined because I need to make a decision and the help I have received has had no effect at all. I am going to be a Junior starting August and I have already signed up for AP Bio. The problem arises due to the fact that we can change our schedule during the first 5 days of school and they added a new course for seniors, which is physics and the school I want to go to suggests that we take a year of physics. I took advanced chemistry last year and advanced biology freshman year. I like both subjects very much and if I look at the grades that I made from both, it is obvious that I have a better chance of making an A if I take biology. I don’t know which take and my head feels like it’s splitting from the stress. I actually feel like crying because I like them both so much.
Also, as of now my academic schedule consists of: Algebra 2 and Trig, English 11, AP European History, AP Biology.
So why can’t you just take physics senior year? You are correct that many schools will want a year of physics, but no school requires that it be completed before applications are submitted.
I can take physics my senior year, but I am afraid that sometime before my senior year or during it the course will become unavailable. It is also hard to decide what to take this year because I still can’t come up with a major. I just know that in the future I want to major in something involving science and math. I’m just afraid that what if during my senior year I finally decide what I want to do and it turns out that I can’t take the courses I need.
Cross that bridge when you get to get to it. If the HS does not offer physics senior year, that’s not your fault. Colleges will not expect you to take a a class if the HS does not offer the course. If it comes to that, the GC can mention it on the Secondary School Report.
Hearing it like that makes me feel slightly better. I guess what I really want to know, excluding anything from senior year, is whether I should just take AP Bio this year instead of Chem.
P.S.What does GC stand for?

It really doesn’t matter what order you take it in…talk to the head of the science dept and ask them if they think Physics will stay…otherwise swap the order and take Physics now and AP Bio later.

You already took a chem class. Taking a second year bio class vs. a 2nd year chem class does not matter to colleges. Take the class that interests you more/has the better teacher/is more aligned for your future plans.
Physics is only offered to seniors and thank you for replying to my questions even though they even give my mom and I headaches. In regards to the teachers, I have decided I can’t choose them based on which is better because in my eyes they are equally good at their jobs and when I talked them both they each said I should take their classes.
The best advice anyone can give you is to go with the class that you are more interested in, and the one that you believe you will succeed in.
