AP Classes

Hello, I know AP classes are something that many people say look good for colleges, etc. So I just want some advice. Currently, Im a junior taking 2 APs (AP Lang and AP Bio). In sophomore year, I took one AP which was APUSH, and freshman year I didn’t take any because my school didn’t allow freshmen to take APs yet. My school is known for offering many AP classes, and I want to know if I’m not taking enough?

I was planning on taking 3 this year, but unfortunately my guidance counselor told me AP World History conflicted with my other AP classes, and couldn’t fit in my schedule. So she put me in World History honors, because my school requires that you have to take one or the other. In sophomore year, the maximum I could have taken was 2, but I only took one because I thougth APUSH was hard enough, and I also didn’t know much about APs yet. If I could go back, I would have taken another AP like Comp Sci or something but obviously it is what it is

So I just wanted advice on whether I’m not doing enough, or maybe how many I should go for in senior year. My school doesn’t give us that much freedom when it comes to taking classes we want, but I think senior year I’ll have more slots open.

Your transcript is viewed in context of your schools offerings and policies. Many schools restrict the number if courses freshman and sophomores take. Schedule conflicts are a reality. These will not impact your application.
