let me just give some background as to my school policy we only allow AP's starting in junior year and we do offer a lot currently i took 2 in junior year and am signed up for 5 in senior year however i dont really feel comfortable with one of them and i am thinking about dropping into the honors class...lets say hypothetically speaking i get a B in the AP class but i get an A in the honors class which one should i take

I would take the B, personally. At least you know you did you potential.

Is your rank weighted or unweighted? If it's weighted and you're borderline, take the AP - you stil have a chance of getting an A.

And make sure you take at least 3 AP's, since you took 2 last year.

I've heard many college admissions say that a B in AP looks better than an A in Regular (or in this case Honors). But I don't think that takes into effect the impact on your GPA.

I would recommend just taking the hit and going with AP; you learn more and its taking a challenge.

:)

our school doesnt rank and i am worried that if i take the AP language class it will not only affect my grade but i will also have to put a lot of time in trying to get the grade high

Admissions representatives would say that an A in an AP class is what you should get.

Well, Duh... But you missed my point. When asked whether they would prefer to see a B in AP or A in regular, they would rather see that the student took a more challenging class...

:)

Yes, colleges would prefer a B in AP over an A in an easier class, but when you're already taking four AP's, I think the difference is almost neglible. I would take the honors class. You've already proven that you're taking a very demanding schedule, and I think you would be better off with all A's in four AP' and an honors class versus four A's and a B in all AP's.
