AP/ CLEP test prep advice

hey everyone!

I'm a bit confused as to which test I should go for AP or CLEP. Which one would colleges like better? And how many AP exams are a decent amount to show that u are a great student? Also, for the CLEP exam u get ur scores instantly vs. the AP exam results which u get in like July, correct? If that is the case, how do i show colleges that I do well in challenging college level courses?-I'm not taking the AP cources, just the AP eams. I would really appreciate any info i can get about this subject. Thank You very much.

Are you self studying the A.P. classes? I was just wondering. Also I think that like 6-8 A.P.'s would be good. Also check some college's websites to see if they accept CLEP scores. Because some don't.

CLEP isn't common at all.

If you're self studying all your AP's, 2-5 would be acceptable. If you're feeling particularly ambitious, I'd say go for 6-8 or more. But they only count if you take the exams before you apply, meaning either you freshman, sophomore, or junior years.

hey sciencenerd,

Yes, I will be self-studying most of the AP classes. The only ones that I have taken this yr as an AP class are AP Bio and AP spanish. That way i can get the feel of it, just a little bit. I could get any extra info from various teachers at my school.

About the CLEP, thanx for telling me to check with the schools. I would have definitely forgotten about that. lol

Thank You sooo much. hehe

Yea, I'm gonna be a senior this fall so, does that mean that AP classes won't help? Cuz that would really suck.
