AP comp sci

I just found out that AP test fee has increased to 117 dollars this year for international students, and i am wondering if i should take all my APs cuz of money and senioritis. I am considering business econ major at UCI. Will taking ap comp sci help me in any way? How about AP US gov?

AP Comp Sci will give you credits towards an introductory CS class. For me, AP GOVT only gave me elective credit. If money isn’t a concern, I do suggest you try to take all the APs you are confident you are able to pass, because those credits do help you a lot. I entered UCI with sophomore standing, and I was able to register for my winter quarter a week ahead of most of the other people in my grade. That helped me get into some classes that my friends weren’t able to get into, and now they have to wait a quarter later to take it.

That sounds awesome. I am pretty sure i can get 4/5 on all my APs…it’s just money is kinda concern for me. I want to save up for college for my parents lol. So with sophomore standing, does that mean you are graduating in 3 years?

the more credits you get the easier it is to graduate in 3 years. It still requires taking 18+ units in each quarter (they will let you take up to 19 your first quarter and then 22 after that). It is very easier to get into upper level classes, and if you have your GE’s covered then you are ahead of the game.
In a long run, if you graduate in 3, you will be saving your parents money for a whole school year. Its doable - not easy but doable. You might consider taking some summer classes on junior college after your first year also.
good luck

I have been thinking. Is GE courses easier than major courses? If i want to maintain a high gpa, would taking GE classes generally help pull my grade?

you really do not want to do GE courses. Some of them are like HS social studies but on college level with college grades and work load, even when you are science major
