My AP Gov class at school is somewhat unusual; it is a "two-for-one" deal in which you spend a majority of the year covering AP U.S. Gov material, but in the last month or so you turn to AP Comparative Gov and can take both tests.

However, we do not learn all the necessary material for Comparative Gov (probably just enough to squeeze a 3). So I have turned to Ethel Wood and am going to intensive self-study until the AP exam.

My main concern is the Free Response Questions. I would like help with how to prepare for this, other than answering sample questions. Will most of the "comparative" part come from comparing two or more countries, or will some of it be comparing institutions, etc. within one country?

If anyone can help me with questions such as these or just has general tips specific to the AP Comparative Gov Free Response section, they would be much appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm looking at the questions at the end of each chapter (both MC and FR) in Ethel Wood's guide, and many/most of them seem really easy (save the FR). However, the practice MC test I took was not this easy. Does anyone know if Ethel Wood's questions are a lot easier than the actual exam, or if the practice exam I took was just an anomaly? Thanks again.
