AP compulsory at Penn State ?

The Penn State Abington website says the following:

"First-year students have
- earned a high school diploma or equivalent before starting at Penn State
- attempted fewer than 18 college credits at another institution
- enrolled in college courses at Penn State or another institution while in high school"

Does this mean that College Credit courses are compulsory?

What does the above mean?

Reference: First-Year Students | Penn State Abington

You are misreading the info. These are LIMITS – in order to apply as 1st year students, they

MUST have a HS diploma or equivalent.
HAVE NOT MORE than 18 college credits at another institution
MAY have taken PSU or College courses while in High School

There is no requirement for APs.

It is simply defining the outer limits of your being able to apply as a freshman. You can still apply as a freshman if you have credits for college courses taken either while in high school or after high school if the total is less than 18 hours. You don’t need any college credits to actually apply as a freshman.

@drusba, Can you chance me?

Facts to consider:

1) I want to go to Computer Science Major.
2)I am talking about any campus from all the available campuses preferably University Park or Harrisburg.
3)SAT: CR 490 M 620 W 590 (1700/2400)
4)TOEFL: 107/120
5)GPA: 3.2/4
6)Ethnicity: Indian

So when opting for CS, i get an option to End at 3 campuses, Harrisburg, University Park, Erie.
Whereas for starting campus i can opt from any.

So the question is
Which of these should i do:

1) Starting Campus: Harrisburg
Alternate Starting Campus: Abington

2) Starting Campus: University Park
Alternate Starting Campus: Harrisburg

Which of these will have more chances of me getting in?

University Park is going to be a reach, you will probably get into another campus…

How about my chances at Harrisburg and Abingon? I have put the two campuses as starting and alternate starting campuses respectively.
