AP Computer Sci AB?

I think next year is the last year CB is administering it, and next year I am scheduled to take the AP Comp Sci A class. I was wondering how much more material I would have to self study to take Comp AB, and whether it was difficult or not.

If anyone has done this, please feel free to share your experiences.

Thanks.

I self studied the whole thing completely, and did well, but I already had a lot of experience with this type of stuff. AB mainly has more stuff with data structures and algorithms, while A focuses more on object oriented programming. I would just try looking over everything that's in AB once you know the basics of programming, since you don't really need to know the stuff in A to do the stuff in AB. The only problem is that the test seemed to cover mostly the AB stuff. I think there was about two multiple choice questions that were actually about OOP, which is the major focus of A.

^thanks anyone else?

I took A last year and it's easy, but it took a lot of practice to get it that way. I think that doing AB as well would be difficult and not necessarily fruitful. That said, if you're applying to a college that'll give you placement or credit for it, you've got little to lose, so you might as well go for it.
