***AP Computer Science A 2015-2016 Thread***

Hey guys! What are you guys using to practice besides the released free response questions and barrons?

Will we need to throw exceptions manually on any of the FRQ? If so, which?

@ro2400 I posted my favorite resources on post #29.
@dango98 I don’t think throwing exceptions is in the AP java subset. You just have to know what they are. https://secure-media.collegeboard.org/digitalServices/pdf/ap/ap-computer-science-a-java-subset.pdf on the top of page 3.
Edit: My previous question was never answered. What MC score should I be aiming for? The highest I’ve scored is only a 30/40. I don’t have a problem with FRQs, but I always make a couple mistakes that cost me 2 or 3 points per question out of 9.

You should cut your mc mistakes to about 5 because with a 35/40 mc and 6/9 average score on the free response then you would be set for a 5.

@ro2400 Thanks!

how do you guys feel about the timing of both the mc and frq?

@dango98 FRQs feel like more than enough time, but I’m always rushing to finish the last questions on the MC.

Any one knows if Barron’s is harder or easier than the real deal? Thx

@ThemanX Harder.

So it turns out that both sections are 1:30 now instead of 1:15 and 1:45. Does this mean the MC should be harder and the FRQ easier?

What is gonna come instead of grid world??

@jxw198 It should be the same in difficulty.
@Ashwin123 Nothing. Just more q’s from the subset.

thanks

could someone summarize the rules ( what could be included ) in an interface and an abstract class pls?

and i do not understand when to use " this" and when not to

will be absolutely thrilled with a 4 on this thing.

@Honickmonster I feel like that is likely going to be my score too. I have the hardest time concentrating on the multiple choice questions. It sucks though because I don’t think anyone in my class will get a 5. Even our teacher thinks that. He tries, but he doesn’t explain things very well. Does anyone know if the curve is about the same as 2009?

So is appendix included during the exam?

Got a 1 last year… Hoping to get a 3 this year. Self-studied both times.

@TheAutodidact Hi Do you still remember if we are provided with the reference sheet during exam?
