<p>I'm thinking of self-studying AP Comp. Sci A next year. My friends have told me that most of the test is based upon logical Java. Any old students think that it is a possible self-study. And if so, what book should I use? Is there any computer programs that I will have to purchase? (Besides an IT Graphics, which is basically Art I, I have never taken any computer classes)</p>

<p>I took AP computer science AB (and our first semester basically got us to A material), and I had to basically self-study the first half of A material over the summer. I must say, it can drive you nuts. If you want to self-study, at least find a friend who can help.</p>
