S is planning to major in Computer Science. If he does well on his Computer Science A AP test today he schould receive the credit for CS114-118. I don’t see 114 or 118 on the Computer Science requirement list so am I to assume that the results of this test won’t matter when scheduling his classes for the fall/spring? (The lowest class is 201).

Thanks for any help on this.

Wouldn’t the AP credit exempt him from CS 150, 160, and 250?

Right…I forgot to add in my post that I don’t think Kj put the right courses that AP gives credit for.

Kj…check the AP credit chart in the above link

Mom2 and Clemson,
Thank you so much for the information. When I searched the UA website for AP credits it gave me a different link first, which must have been an older chart, which listed AP Computer Science gave credit for CS 114:118. The updated 2010-12 list you gave me gave me different courses which are definitely better as they are courses my son would have to take. Thank you so much for pointing me to the right page. I hope S does well on his AP test! (Mom2 thanks too for the flowchart…this will definitely help my son with his scheduling. You are a fountain of knowledge for us newbies.)
