AP Computer Science A Self Study

Hey guys,
How should I go about self studying AP Computer Science A? I am really interested in computer science and am thinking about a possible undergrad in the subject. I have some experience in Python, but the AP is java centric only. I can’t take this class at school so I am considering online classes. This would essentially be a self study.

I am considering:
VHS - Virtual Online High School
Florida Virtual School - FLVS

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which course is better, or any other options or effective methods to study for the AP Exam?

I would be taking the AP Exam for this class next year (so I would have a little over a year to prepare), not this year obviously. I would also be in my junior year with a pretty rigorous course load so I can’t take multiple courses.

Thank you, any input would be appreciated!

Edit: I’d rather not take FLVS or VHS as they seem like very expensive options.

EdX offers several AP Computer Science course, some live and some archived. They are free unless you want a certificate. https://courses.edx.org/courses/course-v1:HarvardX+CS50+AP/course/

Thank you!

FLVS has a 94% pass rate for AP CS.

There are a lot of free resources online that really help with AP compsci. Following along to videos on youtube really helped me. I would say write the programs as you study the concepts, that worked well for me and prepared me for the free response section. Good luck!
