AP Computer Science A - tips + advice?

So I’m trying to decide if I should take AP Computer Science A this year. I’m a freshman and already am not doing too well in the class(enough for an A, but barely). The deadline for registration is in a few days and I’m stuck in between - if I take the test, I’m aiming for a 5, or 4 at least. It’d be really helpful if y’all have any insight or tips for the test or whether I should take it or not all together. Thanks in advance!

Stay in the class and buy the Barrons book for AP Comp Sci, but pay attention to the sections that no longer pertain to the curriculum since they changed it very recently to exclude a few topics, like abstract classes. The Barrons book is a life saver and helped me all throughout the year and got me a 4 without a ton of studying. I had never done any coding before this also and jumped into the class with no experience whatsoever. Ask the teacher for help whenever you can and look at YouTube videos for help too. This is one of the easiest APs (I have heard and from my experience with other APs) and they made it even easier this year by updating the curriculum. You can do this as long as you put in the effort, and if you have an A, you’re doing well.
