If you have taken AP Computer Science A, what was your opinion on it? I have a background of Java from Honors intro to comp sci, but I am looking for opinions of ap comp science because I plan on taking that next year.

Thanks!

My opinions: it is an introductory class. It is not going to teach you any thing much about computer programming. In order for you to write great code, you must understand the machine and it is more of an art. If you want to know more, ask me. Been programming C++ for 6 years now. I am JUST starting Assembly.

It’s not terribly difficult, just more Java, which if you are interested in the subject won’t be that hard.

Very easy. My only “background” on Computer Science was Visual Basic. No knowledge of Java going into the class. The topics were a breeze, the problems and programs we had to make were very fun and sometimes (though not too often) challenging, and the AP Exam was almost a joke. Those with a liking for math and problem solving will easily get a 5.
