AP Computer science book

What is the best book to self-study java for AP Computer science?

In class we use Java Methods by Gary & Maria Litvin. Although i’m not self-studying, its made purposely for the AP exam and includes all the grid world stuff. Its very easy to follow in my opinion, and I could imagine myself using it if I had to self-study. Not to mention one of the authors works at Andover (so i’ve read)!

Thank you Remembrance. I ordered this book. What do you do for practices? My “teacher” does not explain anything in class, and give us those tests where you have to know not just the concept, but all the little details that is impossible to find.

Actually, i forgot to mention this earlier. The same people that make the Litvin book also make an accompanying practice book. It’s called be prepared for the AP Computer science exam by Litvin, and has a red cover. Other than that, i’ve read that barrons is pretty good. You could use released practice exams too.
