AP Computer Science for a high schooler?

<p>I'm a high school student hoping to become a software engineer.</p>

<p>I have no information about colleges and careers. I need your help.</p>

<p>Can taking AP computer science exam be helpful? What are some advantages?
I already have some knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, C and Java programming languages.
And I have some programming experience in freelancing (I needed money for a private school)</p>

<p>I've spent a lot of time learning those things so I want to take advantage of it as much as possible. (for college credit)</p>

<p>It may or may not transfer into your program. It all depends on your school and their requirments.</p>
