I have a basic knowledge of Java, so I decided to self study for the AP Computer Science exam. So far, it's pretty easy, but I need to learn about GridWorld- Will doing the questions in the student manual be sufficient enough, or will I need supplementary instruction? (Besides doing the free response questions on previous exams).

Yes, however, you will need to understand the behaviors and such, just to get a good idea of how it goes.

Barrons has a very nice section on GridWorld, so I would definitely recommend working out of there if you can. They have a full explanation of all the actors, etc. and have plenty of sample questions.
Also, you should take as many past FRQs as you can (found on the CB website) as at least one question in the FRQ every year is based on the case study.

Best of luck!

everything’s in there, but you gotta know what to call the methods on, like getGrid() or a location, or if you dont have to use dot notation at all.
