Im a junior in highschool and filling out my schedule for senior year, and im considering to take AP Computer Science, and will be taking programming with java at the same time. I have no prior knowledge to these subjects, as the only reason im taking these are for my majors (cant decide atm) computer engineering or computer science. Im currently in Alg 2, with a high 95 average both marking periods so far, and will take pre-calc over the summer to take calc next year. My question is do you think that I will do fine in this class? I know my math level is really low, but I don't ever get anything lower than a 85 on any of my tests. Will i be able to do good if I don't have any knowledge of computer science?

anyone? :(

AP computer science A is really just a fast-paced java programming class, so you’d be learning the same things in both classes. Since you’re a junior, and you plan on focusing in computer science/engineering, I would take the AP. I took it with prior knowledge and it was easy. I must warn you, if you have no prior knowledge it may be a challenge. My friend, 3rd in our class of 500, had no prior knowledge. At the beginning he struggled, but he ended with an A+ in the class. I say this to show you that it is possible to succeed, but you must focus a lot of time into it and have fun.

Good luck, man.
