AP Computer Science

Hello, I am in 8th grade and I applied to a private high school (I am currently in a private middle school). I will get my admissions letter next week but I will most likely get in because my sister attends that school and I have very good stats. Anyways, I was looking at the schools website and they have STEAM. Being in steam freshman year will allow you to take AP Computer Science by Junior year which I really want to do (I love CS). But on their website it reads, “STEAM Applications are now closed.” I didn’t know you have to “apply” to steam. Does anyone know if I can still take STEAM without “applying”? I know this question is very specific, but if you somehow do know then please help.

Because this question is very specific to your school, I think its best if you email the email address where people sent their STEAM applications and ask them if you can still be a part of this program( maybe ask if its possible to get a deadline extension if you didn’t know there was a deadline.) The worst they can say is no.

Even if they don’t let you in for the STEAM program, The word STEAM in itself just means science, technology, art, engineering, and mathematics. If you want to embrace a curriculum that is STEAM-focused, I am positive you could take many classes that fall in this category without being in a specific program.

Hope this helps :slight_smile:

@dreamcloud It does. Thanks!
