I took AP Chemistry this year. I did excellent in the course (98 was my final grade) however I did not do so well on the AP Exam (3). What does this mean? Where do I stand? Should I send the score to colleges? What if I don’t send the score? Does sending the score tarnish my record? Does not sending it give negative results? Thank you.
I believe that the course grade is more important than the exam grade. You should just send the score to colleges as it shouldn’t affect admissions. I hope this kinda helps. Good luck with everything else.
The score can be used for course placement and credit more than admission. It is better to do well in the class than just on the exam.
I got a 89 in AP Lang and comp but since I live in NY where the regents counts as the final exam I can retake it and if i get a 100 instead of a 95 I will finish with a 90 in the class (school doesn’t have a 4.0 scale). is it worth the time to retake it or will colleges not care about a 89 vs a 90? I also got a 3 on the exam
What percentage of students get 5s and 4s?? I don’t think a 3 is “bad” per se. I would still report it especially if you have some other scores that are 4s and 5s. If you had gotten a 98 in the class, but a 2 on the exam, I would have assumed rampant grade inflation at your school. But, I don’t imagine people report 2s.
