Hi! I’m thinking about taking AP World History online in order to boost my GPA.
The one thing I’m concerned about, though, is I only want to take one semester.
Would it look back for college admissions to only take one semester of APWH? I don’t plan on taking the AP test or anything - it would strictly be in order to boost my GPA.
I took World History Honors at my school freshman year if that makes a difference.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
taking only 1 semester of a 2 semester AP online class wont do a thing to help you “look better” to colleges.
And you should always take the AP test for ANY AP online class you take.
That helps to prove that you did learn the material.
First, it does not help much if any your GPA by one semester of one course. The grade would be diluted >20 times by other grades. For example, if your current GPA is 3.8 and you expect this course would give you a 4.0, then it will bring it up to 3.81.
Second, it is a total waste of time to take one semester of a year long course. It serves no purpose.
