At our HS, students must take honors bio to take AP bio, honors chem to take AP Chem, honors physics to take AP Physics, honors calculus to take AP calculus AB...you get the idea. These are all full year courses. The exception is AP Environmental Science, basic physical science or biology will suffice, although honors physical science/bio is preferred. One starts to run out of time to get in all the required courses before even taking the AP classes! Assuming you have all the honors requirements completed and can choose one AP science class, which would you chose? College interests undecided. Thanks for you info.

Whichever honors science class you liked the best and got the best grade in.

Is it at all possible for you to take more than one AP science class in one year? I know a couple of kids who are taking both AP Chem and Anatomy and Physiology (a college-level course, only we get credit from a local CC) this year, and it seems to be working out pretty well for them.

If you are taking an AP science course concurrently with an AP History class you are onlly allowed to take one science course.

At my school the only prerequisite for most AP's is that you performed well in a previous class and were recommended by your teacher. The exception is that to take both AP Bio and AP Chem you need to have taken a year of chem (not necessarily honors) and for AP Physics (Mechanics) you need to be taking AP Calc or already know calculus. You can basically take as many AP's as you get recommended for and can fit into your schedule, though. This year I'm taking Chem, Physics, CS AB, and Calc BC.
