AP Courses Alongside IB Diploma?

Hi all,

So at the moment I am on summer vacation and will be starting my IB Diploma Program this upcoming fall at a United World College. I am mentioning the school because it is notorious for also implementing lots of co-curricular activities into students’ schedules.

My current subject selections for this upcoming year are:

IB Higher Level History
IB Higher Level Global Politics
IB Higher Level English Language and Literature

IB Standard Level Mathematics
IB Standard Level French B
IB Standard Level Environmental Systems and Societies

I have mostly gotten all 100’s or 90’s from these subjects during my former years in school, but my question is:

Should I also register for two online AP courses while I am doing my IBDP?
I would register through Florida Virtual School, doing AP US History during my Junior year, and AP US Government and Politics during my Senior year.

Do you think it would be wise to do two APs while also doing IBDP with a heavy set of extracurricular activities?

Thanks beforehand

I would not take additional classes. You may, however, find that with a little bit of prep, you can take the AP exams based on what you have learned in your IB classes. I

What are you thinking of majoring in? Have you taken Bio, Chem, and/or Physics?

I have taken bio, chem, and physics continuously until now, and will not be having any during my IBDP years. Ultimately, I want to major in International Relations with a possible minor in human rights depending on the college i end up at.

hi!

i understand this may be a bit late, but if you haven’t started taking AP yet, I certainly wouldn’t start now. IB is CRAZY hard work especially at a UWC (I would know, I also go to UWC!) ESPECIALLY in your senior year. Anywho, just score well in IB and colleges will look at you the same
