AP COURSES for a Princeton bound student

anyone else have any comments based on that scedule? it seems very balanced. looking to taking spanish at local college. maybe intermediate. which shud be harder than hs spanish anyays right? do grades at local colleges have to be submittted?

Latin 1 definitely does not look scholarly. Princeton recommends that you study the same language throughout high school, so if you want to put yourself in the best possible position, take Spanish. Also, why are you leaning towards biology over chemistry and physics? You can't go wrong with any of those three; I was just wondering.

i wanna be a bio major. i am best at bio and am most interested.

the biology seems fine, especially if you also do research in bio. Even if you don't feel comfortable with the AP test, take it. I didn't feel comfortable and still got a 5 (how in God's name I don't know). Academic vitality is important at Princeton; go out and try with the Spanish.

in our school taking the ap class means takin the ap is a requirement and there is no way around it.

Why is that a problem? Princeton won't see what you get on the exam until after the decisions are mailed?

Oh, for God's sake, collegebond78: "AP Calculas BC"? It's Calculus! I would have suggested AP English Literature over AP English Language, but maybe you should just stick to the basics--do Language and Composition and hone those conventions. Just kidding...really. No--but seriously--AP Literature is a lot better, in my opinion. In terms of getting into Princeton, it doesn't matter too much which one you take. Just take as many as you want to in as many subjects as possible--math, science, English, and social science, etc. Good luck and learn and make sure you run a spell check for those essays.

*correction: omit "and learn." Haha--I'm a hypocrite.

lols. thanks for the advice. i got bored of just reading books and analyzing. i thought itd be more intresting and useful for me to analyze speeches and language so i decided to take ap comp.

I took language and composition and found it pretty boring. Two of the three AP essays ask you to analyze the rhetorical styles (whatever that means) that the author used in a certain passage. It's basically a bunch of BS.

do a.p scores really matter? schools cant take back their acceptance cuz u got 2 or 3's?

In that sense, no. Don't forget though that the real purpose of AP's is to allow you to place out of courses when you get to college.

collegebound, you sound really obnoxious. :D

just fyi

i dont even remember posting this. doesn't sound like me. i want 5's so i can start off with advanced placement.my cousins (also juniors) might have posted that.
