Do colleges even look at the classes I take in my senior year? I'm thinking of taking AP Calculus for my senior year, which is next year, but I'm wondering if that will even be weighed in admissions?

To answer your question-YES!. Admissions will want to see you are taking the most difficult course load, and couple that with the grades/classes you have taken the previous 3 years.

Your transcript will list grades for 9th, 10th and 11th grades AND the courses you have registered to take in 12th grade - so yes - the colleges see them and they care. Keep in mind that RD schools - the decisions you will not be receiving until March or April 1 - they will request mid-ear grades from senior year. So, senior courses are important and senior grades are important.

Yes yes yes you should definitely take it if you can.

One thing I wish I had known when applying to colleges is that your senior grades DO matter for schools that ask for midyear reports… you never know, that midyear report with straight A’s can easily sway admissions in your favor. And all colleges you apply to will ask to see your senior courseload.

Yes!

You are expected to maintain the rigor of your courses senior year. It’s fairly transparent to colleges if you start coasting with easy courses.
