@CollegeMan91 Thanks!. Will college still see that the kid sign up but did not take the exam?

You get to choose which scores to report. https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/score-reporting//

If the question is IF one signs up for an AP exam but not take it, will the colleges find out?
The answer is NO.

The only downside for doing so is you will lose $95 or ~$30 if cancelled early.

Yup, that is what I was worried about, you answered it. Thanks

Thanks!

My Lower kid is taking a pretty rigorous course load at a good prep school this year. Planning on taking the AP Biology exam, and is also considering taking the AP US History exam. However, my kid’s teacher said that the US History course does not prepare for the AP exam, and that one would have to take the AP US History class specifically to prepare for the exam. Due to expected scheduling conflicts for Upper year, my kid was thinking to self study and take the exam, but has to sign up for the AP before knowing whether he/she can master the material or not. If my kid registers by the deadline, is it possible to unregister if deciding that the material is too much, or if not, can kid choose not to take the exam without the failure to show up being sent to colleges for admission? Sorry to double Post as trying to figure answer quickly. Thanks
